Together, they’ll be Cruising For A Cure On Carnival Cruise Line For The Love Anchors Cruise Benefiting Breast Cancer Research And Patient Financial Aid. The Ship Will Leave Port From New Orleans April 26th - May 3, 2020. Cochran Will Also Be Performing On The Grand Ole Opry For Their Breast Cancer Night “OPRY GOES PINK” along with Luke Bryan, Sara Evens, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Craig Morgan Nashville, TN - September 19, 2019 - Anita Cochran an ACM, and CMA nominated singer/songwriter/musician and breast cancer survivor is set to hold her first Breast Cancer Event on board the Carnival Glory Cruise Ship titled The Love Anchors Cruise. Proceeds will go to Susan G Komen Central Tennessee for research and financial aid for patients in need. The cruise sets sail from New Orleans, April 26th - May 3, 2020. A 7 night cruise with destinations to Belize, Roatan and Cozumel. Cochran and friends will perform two shows and have other scheduled events on board to help raise money along with silent auctions. TV and Radio personality Suzanne Alexander will be setting sail as host.
The cruise theme will be Fight Like A Girl after Anita’s powerhouse anthem Fight Like A Girl a song she wrote about her recent journey with breast cancer. Cochran being diagnosed in August of 2017 with Triple Positive, Invasive Carcinoma Breast Cancer has been in recovery and set a vow to try to do what she could for the fight against breast cancer for all. Cochran donates proceeds from Fight Like A Girl download sales to The Love Anchor Fund which is managed by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and distributed to a variety of breast cancer organizations.
Good Morning America themed their Breast Cancer Awareness Event after Anita’s song Fight Like A Girl and had her perform the song live October 5, 2018 calling Anita’s Good Morning America and ABC News quoted as saying “The Singing sensation and breast cancer survivor rocked Times Square with her inspiring anthem.” Anita’s performance was the first time show had an artist start their performance inside the studio and end up in the middle of Time’s Square. “Because I’m a fighter, I’m a survivor, you ain’t gonna change my world,” Cochran sings in the powerful anthem. The words are inspiring not just to those battling cancer, but also to men and women alike who are facing their own personal trials.
“My story is about my battle with breast cancer,” Cochran says, “but there are so many people out there who are trying to push past barriers and that’s what this song is about. Giving back has always been of paramount importance to Cochran from the very beginning, so she knew she wanted to share her story. She was the first female artist in the history of country music to write, produce, and play multiple instruments including lead guitar on her debut release. A former Warner Bros artist who has released “Back To You” featuring the number one, award winning song “What If I Said” with Steve Wariner.
